This much maligned company's recently completed colaborative partnership with MRK promises, despite poor management on behalf of shareholders in the past, to provide financial stability, and a marketing conduit for the comercial development of novel M-tor inhibitors critical to the treatment of sarcomas (FDA fasttracked due to special need). Since these inhibitors appear to be applicable to a wide range of other cancers and have few side effects, and this company is selling (considering the 75 mil upfront payment by MRK) for an enterprise value of about174 mil, the buyer is getting enormous potential for next to nothing. Also, Aria's short ratio (of 7.4 ,16%+) and the fact that it has really bottomed should magnify the upside once it starts to move.

ARIAD smoked Lilly in the Nf-kB Jury and Bench Trials. Lilly current owes ARIAD $100 million in damages, and the amount is increasing the longer Lilly delays settlement. AMGEN and Wyeth face the same results, along with 50 other companies that ARIAD notified for infringement!!

IF MERCK IS WILLING TO INVEST MILLIONS IN ARIAD, I CERTAINLY DON'T MIND BUYING SOME SHARES.

With the parnership finalized on 7-12, NOW is the time to get in...Merck funding is a huge plus and Phase III trial updates are likely to be favorable along the way.
