This stock is currently too high considering the exposure to the Heavy-Duty truck market which is going to have a very bad year after an incredible 2006. It won't be offset by the Light-Vehicle market which is pretty flat right now. This is a… More

Most of the auto parts suppliers keep getting large pops in their share price as speculators pour in looking for the most down trodden. ArvinMeritor is no exception. After jumping on AXL and TEN way too early and carrying hundreds of negative points in my CAPs, you would think that I would learn. Smart I'm not, stubborn I am. ArvinMeritor is another company that is grossly net negative tangible assets, net negative margins, and net negative cash flow. Cash is half what was on hand six months ago and dropping. Stockholder equity has dropped from a positive $680 Million to a NEGATIVE $700 Million in the last year. ($1.3B in equity gone). While federal aide or an improvement to the recession may help, it will be several years before companies such as ArvinMeritor are back to profitable conditions. Driving their stock up appears to me to be high risk with minimal reward, regardless of the company's share price 18-24 months ago. ArvinMeritor is slightly diversified in light trucks, military and other off road vehicles, but not to the point where its value is $3.75 per share.
