This one is SPECULATIVE. And in keeping with David Gardner's recent confession about the source of investing ideas, I'll come clean with where this one comes from. I have a friend who is a pharmaceutical scientist and fellow investment educator. (He has no affiliation with Arena) I must also tell you that our sofa in the lower level is named for him and Vertex Pharma. (grin) Arena came up during a discussion about Sanofi-Aventis and pipelines in general. Arena is working in some interesting areas, including a Phase 3 version of an obesity pill that shows promise. Please know that this is swinging for the fences with full awareness that most batters strike out more often when they swing from the heels. That said, this is my Christmas miracle pick for CAPS, and miracles don't happen if you don't give them a chance. Have a Merry and Foolish Christmas!
