Allied Technologies is a great play in the defense sector. They make the lead that go in the rounds our troops use. For all those people that are against the war you still need to look at this stock. We will be in Iraq and Afghanistan for years to come. That means this company will make profits and more profits.

Praise the Lord and pass the ammunition!

Government is buying lots of bullets, ATK is getting contracts and performing well on them.
Disclamer: I own no stocks in ATK, thinking of buying some. I work in the dense industry and the company I work for does have some business ties to ATK.

Sub-Industry Aerospace & Defense
This company is the Pentagon's largest ammunition supplier and also the world's
largest maker of solid-fuel rocket engines, and a significant supplier to NASA.
ATK has become the leading supplier of civil(law enforcement) and sporting ammunition. In addition, we see ATK increasing its market share with NASA, with ongoing work on both the Space Shuttle and the lower stage of the
Ares I launch vehicle, proposals for the upper stage of Ares 1.
For the 10 years ending in FY 07, ATK achieved compound annual growth rates of
12.6% for sales, 17.5% for income from continuing operations, and 20.7% for EPS.
Recs
ATK is taking its first steps to becoming a prime contractor in the world of aerospace rather than a subcontractor. If they can lay the foundation to get these full system contracts, they could have the potential for a sustained high rate of growth.

+Defense for diversity.

Excellent Fundamentals
Recs
I have watched a local company, Swales, that worked with NASA and has grown over the years but could not buy stock. To my surprise ATK has signs over their doors and has expanded plant significantly this past year. ATK has significant operations in space expoloration systems, rocket fuel production (see blurb on getting second stage propellant contract from NASA) and munitions production. I checked stats and that solidified my buying a position. Lo and behold! I made a few % on the following days. I'm probably the kiss of death for its long term prospects. :>

As long as bullets are needed
Recs
They have three main business operations: Ammunition Systems (Bullets...Lots of bullets), Mission Systems (Top Secret stuff in US aircraft including advanced weapons and sensors, propulsion and control systems, and tactical systems), and Launch Systems (Even more Top Secret. This area makes the Trident II and the Delta II Missile move in the direction of the bad guy.) Also, the Launch Systems division produces missile defense interceptors.
In 2007, ATK purchsed Swales Aerospace for its satellite component, space engineering, and small spacecraft business. Swales only customers were NASA and DoD.
Recs
They have been beefing up management will experience and bright people.

Bullets, in this time in history, oh yes that sounds like an excellent play. Excellent recent conference call, guiding upward. Democrats will not stop spending on the terror war if they gain more power.
Recs
Exclusive government contracts, ongoing war, better products, international interest. They are THE defense play for the next 2 years.
Recs
