To many stumbles by management lately but they have the assets to outperform in the future, if not big dilution or bk coming, I think they will get it right

If ATPG was undervalued at twice its current market value, then wouldn't it have an even greater margin of safety now?

Do I think demand for oil is going to be substantially different over the next 5 years now that the USA is only double A? nope.....

Will slightly higher borrowing costs bog down an over-leveraged oil driller? (over-leveraged according to book assets rather than the value of proven oil finds)...... maybe, but not so much to bring the acquisition value below at least twice the current market value.

Excellent management, great assets and outstanding technology to develop the fields. The company will become profitable by end of this year and the stock will see above average growth as shorts run for cover.

Once the oil and/or gas starts to flow up, provided the platform is still operational after any hurricanes that come thru, this should be a most welcome shot in the arm for ATP as the leader that investors want to follow. One concern or comment though, is if the producers of these offshore oil rigs that build them for ATP, and anyone else, truly build these platforms to stand almost anything that the weather can slam them with. Over the last 20 yrs, how much have they learned AND implemented? How quickly can they recover now, verses what used to be normal recovery time. Provided ATP really puts this offshore rig up right the first time, with beefed-up redundant safety and redundant storm protocols in place, this should be an awesome example of leadership and sound investing. I just hope this will be the shining example of doing things right for the employees and the environment, and then making the investors very, very happy for decades to come.

Got deep water drilling permit today (3/18/2011). Rumor for it and PPS spiked to over $21 2 weeks ago. Now the permit is the fact.

16M shorts sahres need to squeezed on Monday.

Today around 3 PM that had less half million shares buying that pushed the PPS from $18.1 to $19.43, so 16M shorts squeeze then.....$23-$27?

It's got legs to run, especially if this crisis in the Middle East continues to disrupt oil production. Looks for companies like ATPG to head higher.

I'm thinking with the recent troubles in the Mid-East that oil is going up. I expect we will see oil go over $100/bbl in 2011 and greater efforts to extract oil from north sea beds. Fool CAPS rates ATPG at five stars. Interestingly, Schwab gives it a "D - underperform" and recommends sell. We will see if a group of thousands of Fools can outperform the Wall St. wise...tune in next week...
