Everyone uses their product. Furthermore, a growing middle class in china will hopefully contribute to their bottom line. I like the story, and the number. I did bought this when it drops.

Aptar Group “ATR” is a manufacturer of a broad range of innovative dispensing systems (pumps, closures and aerosol valves) which are used in the products of some of the largest marketers of fragrance/cosmetic, pharmaceutical, food/beverage and household goods in the world. ATR has significant amounts of operations outside the United States. Sales in Europe compromise approximately 60% of sales with the majority of these products manufactured in Europe. Other foreign regions include Asia and South America which comprise about 10% of sales.

ATR’s operations are subject to some significant trends that should boost sales for the foreseeable future. One of these trends is the conversion of metal non-dispensing caps and lids to more convenient plastic dispensing caps and lids. Gone are the days of passing the new ketchup bottle to the strongest person at the table to see if he/she can unscrew the metal cap. Today you can open a new ketchup container by just popping the plastic dispensing lid with your thumb, squeezing out the ketchup on your hamburger, and pushing the lid closed all using just one hand. Baby boomers are just starting to reach retirement age. As the boomers start to age they will purchase more and more personal care products to try and retain youthful looks. Also, as emerging countries become more prosperous, their populations will purchase more personal care, food/beverage and household products.

One area of promising growth for ATR is the pharmaceutical industry. Major drug companies have several blockbuster drugs coming off patent in the next few years. One way to extent the patent on some of these drugs is to change the delivery system. This can include changing from pills and syringes to more convenient systems such as dispensing pumps and metered dose aerosol valve systems.

Risks associated with ATR include a sharp rise in price of plastic resin which is the main raw material of ATR’s products and a slowdown in the world economy.
