Fundamentals are pretty good. Blizzard not only has great products, but it has demonstrated that it understands the MMORPG business model (where so many other game companies have floundered). Even in a sluggish US economy, these games provide cheap entertainment for the unemployed.

With a growing middle class in China and India, this industry has PLENTY of room to grow over the decade. ATVI appears to be the game company in the best shape to take advantage of this.

Activision is just a couple of weeks into its launch of Modern Warfare 2 and already some are calling it the biggest launch of a Video Game ever. Couple this with a huge list of product that includes Guitar Hero, Tony Hawk, Call of Duty, Warcraft online and too many others to mention you start to have a pretty solid pipeline of revenue. Add to that future releases including Starcraft (ok I admit it I liked this one) and Diablo there is just a chance that this company could make a buck or two in the coming year. They have a big bank account, don’t owe money and consumer spending is suppose to be picking up. I am betting that this stock may actually start to go up in the near future.

With big titles coming next year, I expect this stock to outperform. Also, I love the addition of Blizzard. With World of Warcraft, Activision will have a steady income between big title releases.

HIgh quality products and lack of debt leave it poised to take advantage of market when consumers have increased discretionary spending money. They have delayed releasing some titles to 2010 costing them profits in 2009, but given the economy this year isn't that the correct play on their part? Proliferation of on line gaming as well as other possible uses of a massive on line market make me think this will be a winner for years.

Lots of support for this stock, from Stock Advisor and CAPS. Nice article from Seeking Alpha see:

What's not to like? And the stock price is attractive, too. In at $11.55 for one year; target $15.00; will sell at $17.00 if reached. Also a good candidate for covered call down the road. One negative: CEO insider selling.

It's time to jump on the Modern Warfare bandwagon.

The gaming industry is so cyclical, and a lot of investors have been waiting for ATVI to come up with another hit on the scale of Guitar Hero now that that game has had its run. We have it with Modern Warfare and the certain sequels that will come out in the new couple years.

The online version will be a huge hit too.
