I believe the market is saturated and with a lack of innovation and not a huge acceptance of the new platforms. I don't see much expansion in this org moving forward.

Hearthstone, Destiny, Skylanders, WOW, Call of Duty....go to a gen x, y, or millennials house and I guarantee you that one to all of these titles will be part of their XBox/Playstation/PC collection. These guys are pumping out more powerful franchises and have proven their ability keep these franchises going.

Weaknesses: Skylanders has intense competition from Disney's Infinity products. Considering Disney has its brand of Marvel, Star Wars, and Disney characters, this cash cow may stop producing rich milk. Furthermore, World of Warcraft has a declining subscription base. The margins are still rich, but less cash to go around.

Strengths: ATVI seems to have cash in the bank and innovation on its side. Let me start with innovation. I remember Guitar Hero, DJ Hero, and Skylanders in recent memory. I do remember them trying to blur the lines with Apocolypse (a Bruce Willis game). They are trying new things constantly and succeeds with them. I would venture to say their culture wants them to innovate to increase earnings.

In addition to innovation, Destiny is a huge draw. They've already sold out of their special edition games and they have three ways to make money in the following year: Game launch, Christmas, and PC launch in 2015.

As for World of Warcraft, they have the expansion pack coming in the winter. While this will not gain new subscribers back to its peak of 10MM, but it will halt the decline, which will keep the margin rich game producing money for its next innovative project.

Lastly, their foray into the casual gaming market. They leveraged their World of Warcraft brand into Hearthstone. Though it doesn't do superior sales like everything else, they do have an opportunity to capitalize on that brand, which can support other merchandising efforts. With each game out, you have an opportunity to sell its brand more: shirts, books, movies (upcoming WoW movie), toys, etc. They just brand with games that can make money.

In the next two to four years, I can see another Destiny game, I can see World of Warcraft taking a more innovative gaming approach other than MMO and casual gaming, and I can see more partnerships with Hollywood.

This company is driven by its loyal fan base and production of AAA titles. While there have been issues of innovation in titles such as Call of Duty and World of Warcraft they continue to drive sales with these titles while also building new exciting titles. The merger between Activision & Blizzard brought together two powerhouse companies each with their own stellar product lines.

Blizzard is currently rumored to be developing a new MMO currently being called Titan. Though this is far from confirmed, I believe Blizzard's track record (Starcraft, WoW, Diablo) gives investors reason to believe in their projects.

Activision is preparing for the release of a new Call of Duty for the Xbox One. This release will be the first Call of Duty to be released on the current generation of consoles. Gamers who have fallen off the Call of Duty franchise will be enticed to return due to improved product quality and removed console limitations which will lead to enhanced gameplay experience.

Financially the company is solid. They are currently sitting on roughly $4 billion in cash and have recently taken respectable levels of debt in 2013, potentially to fund new projects (speculating). Price to sales, book, and PE ratios have the company appearing overvalued but will return to respectable levels once these titles are released and sales improve. There could potentially be a pullback in the short term, but long term the company is solid.

Overall this company has been and will continue to be a buy.
