In the state of the encomony I don't see the company lasting unless thre are some drastic changes i actually work for a manufacturing plant that was depended on them and them staying away from striking in febuary. The fact remains things are going up in prices the wages the employes where fighting for was in early january. I don't think they will have enough people able to work for them at there current wages.

American Axle & Manufacturing is currently on strike due to UAW issues with wages and benefits. AA is a major supplier to GM, and you have seen where the US auto market is headed. GM has been struggling to sell it big trucks and SUVs, and AA makes parts for these types of vehicles. As the US slides into a recession, you will see AA sales and profits sink...along with it's stock price.

Primary products are for SUVs and light trucks. Trying to diversify away from GM and DaimlyerChrysler (mostly Chrysler) but these two companies made up 90% of net sales in 2006. Currently undergoing a restructuring with the big wild card being what kind of union concessions they will get. Relatively high debt burden
Recs
Under book value. Product a must for transportation.
Recs
Cars are a tough game particularly with the ability of companies to go overseas and reap cheap labor.
Recs
The basis of AXL business though is threatened under most circumstance, the reality of the case is that its earning potential is shifting at a greater incremental proportion then reliance on GM and Chrysler.
