You move work to a state that has problems with building plans now. This move of putting the second assembly line for the 787 Dreamliner in SC will cost them dearly with numerous delays and an unskilled workforce. I would sell all of your stock now before it tanks and stays that way for a long time

Boeings short-term commercial financials are a 787 wing and a prayer. Boeing stock won't take wing again until the Dreamliner flys.

I don't much like the way Boeing runs some of it's business practices. I have worked in the defense industry and it always seemed that Boeing was trying to come up with some smoke and mirrors ploy to deflect contract difficulties. The tanker contract for the air force was no exception. Additionally, I do not think that their defense division is on par with Raytheon, Lockeed or Northrop since they largely bought into it rather than built it from the ground up. Their greatest strength remains their commercial airframes which undeniably have a history of quality, but I still think that business will suffer over the next year as the airline industry stagnates.

Downthumb. Large pension liabilities. Overhang from 787 delays not likely to be relieved anytime before December. Cutbacks in defense could continue. Experiencing cash flow problems despite assertions to the contrary at earnings conference call last week. Borrowed $1.95 billion after earnings report came out.

Anybody heard anything good about the Dreamliner?

Boeing specializes in expensive planes and procrastinating. The second has rarely been profitable, but even the first is starting to become a burden since budget realities of the American misadministration are forcing it to buy stuff that's not as cool but useful in Afghanistan...

Continued production delays and a reduced production taget mean Boeing will not grow nearly as much as hoped.

Even though we are in a recession and there is no reason to rush it, this is kind of ridiculous. First test flight in 2007?! At this rate, they won't test this till 2010. I mean this is really hurting the company's image, they are losing tons of money. Boeing is really at the top of my list for companies that needs new direction and management. I understand safety is a first, but why predict you can test something at a date you can't...that falls on management.
I expect Boeing to continue to stumble towards bankruptcy until they get new direction.

Continuing struggles in the commercial airline industry will keep the commercial sales for the company low for several coming years.

"Shrinking Airlines Park More Planes in the Desert"
Sorry, I love Boeing as a company, but this is just bad news any way you slice it. It will take time for Boeing to feel the pinch, but feel it they will.

3/25/09 Pitch: Downthumb. Earnings 4/22/09. Defense likely to experience major cuts. 787 program at risk of significant losses due to overweight plane (contractual penalties). Commercial airline companies cancelling or delaying purchases, not only of the 787 but also the 777. Stock is up sharply from its low on no significant positive news. Likely to retrace.

The Obama administration will make changes that will hurt Boeing. Specifically, they will probably cut the overall defense budget and seriously cut funds for the F-22 fighter jet (which Boeing makes with Lockheed Martin, Pratt & Whitney, and the US Air Force), and has stated publicly that he wants to investigate currently-standing Boeing contracts.
