This met a high level screen to indicate a buy and strong outperform against its peers (other tickers in its industry). My 1st version of this spreadsheet devles deep into the company's balnace sheet and recent income statements, combined with other relevant price data for the company including insider/institutional holdings, short interest, debt levels, etc.
Testing capabilities of this 1st version of my automated, valuation spreadhseet matched with my personal criteria and see how it holds up.

Priced at half of book value. Even if all of their mortgages fail simultaneously, they should be able to recover at least 50% of the principal by selling the houses off. Therefore, how can the stock go down any further?

Like Cramer on MSNBC said you hold your nose and buy this stock and make money. Period. I bought in when the stock was slightly below $7 per share. Have increased my position in quarters two fold since n i'm now DCA at just over $12 a share n still making a ROI of over 20%. $20/30 per share next fiscal year not out of the question.

With the acquisitions of the past year B of A is poised to become a money making machine. It is already making very good progress, has a firm cash position and the ability to raise more cash if necessary. Once TARP money is paid back, it will be a real force in the market.

As Sheila Bair has stated over 800 more regional banks are expected to fail in 2010. Many are heavily invested in commercial realestate. BOA will pull customers and is already working with 1 of 2 households nationwide. Merrill will become an asset that leads BOA to profitabilty as the need for financial planning increases as the number of pensions decreases forcing the American workers to create their own retirement. Also, as realestate prices stabilize, many of the write downs will evaporate. Bernanke is not about to raise interest rates anytime soon, and even the worst run financial institution should be able to make money. Insiders are buying stock at $15 and change to just under the $17 dollar pricing. BOA has a breakup bookvalue of $12 and change. If the stimulus spending is even marginal in its effect on the ecomomy, BOA should be booming. It also has cash reserves in excess of !00 billion dollars. Citi may not make it, but Goldman, JP Morgan and BOA are going to go through the roof. There is still over $4 trillion dollars on the sidelines and the Banks are going to push forward with increased profitabily. Financials lead us into this recession, and lead the ecomony out of it as employment increases. A weak dollar will accelerate earnings and as the dollars increases in value overtime purchasing power will become enormous.

Huge corporations are buying this baby at $17 a share. It belongs around $20 for now and $25 next year. It is a steal at $15. Buy now and maybe both of your kids don't have to go to a state school?

Bank of America is very cheap right now. I am giving it a positive outlook not because of their financial status and TARP payments, but because of how I see their business by living in this world. They won't go down, and they will succeed. It just takes time to get back.
