Credicorp Ltd. is largest financial services holding company in Peru. It primarily operates through its four principal subsidiaries: Banco de Credito del Peru (BCP), Atlantic Security Holding Corporation, El Pacifico-Peruano Suiza Compania de Seguros y Reaseguros and Grupo Credito. It is engaged principally in commercial banking, insurance and investment banking.
For the fiscal 2006, total earning grew 17.4%, attributable to excellent performance of the capital markets and strong gains on securities. BCP showed an impressive 34.5% earnings growth which was mainly driven by loan book expansion. Banking has been major contributor to revenue with over 75% contribution witnessed over the years. Insurance business is increasing day by day with 14.8% increase in 2006.
Over the years, the company has made a series of acquisitions to strengthen its presence in the banking industry, with AFP Union Vida being the latest in 2006 year end. The company expects that the booming economy with projected growth of around 7% will provide the impetus for a greater penetration of the banking sector.
The company aims to strengthen its consumer loans, credit cards, and loans to small & medium sized businesses, as they are expected to grow alongside Peru's rapidly expanding economy. Thus BCP has significantly expanded its distribution network, opening 90 new branches and installing 104 new ATMs, and implementing 500 BCP agencies.
The company is financially strong with capital adequacy ratio improving further to 11.8%. Net interest margin stands strong at 5.06%. Efficiency ratio is well placed at 43.47%. Thus with strong fundamentals and growing Peru economy, the stock seems to well placed to garner the maximum.

should settle down and pull back from strong run, stock has been making new highs on lighter then avarage volume , usually a sign of weakness at current price levels . Look for some short term selling and a new base to form. I do belive the company is very strong and can see higher prices but looks very top heavy at this level
