Eventually all content delivery will shift to On demand downloadable media. With Blockbuster being a mainly brick and mortar business it will probably take too long for them to shift into the digital age. Blockbuster seems to always be one step behind the curve and eventually they won't be able climb back.

I started looking at BBI this morning and suddenly it dawned on my, BBI might be a better fit for AMZN than NFLX. AMZN can add books, magazines, light electronics, etc, etc, etc. Then I checked the message boards to see if anybody has thought of this before and guess what, lots of people have given thought on this subject.
If all this sounds wishfull thinking for you practical people, then, I really like it for its risk/reward ratio right now. I think it is oversold and all the negativity is priced in.

Blockbuster is tripping over itself trying to figure out where it is going next. I'm not convinced that management has the capacity to plan for the long term. There future as a player in their industry is uncertain.

Short this dinosaur as NFLX is eating into profits with its convenience and great prices

Have the largest market in this sector and can easily evolve as other competition tries to steal away some of the market. They seem to adapt well. Everyone rents movies

There is no hope for Blockbuster unless they make a rapid change to their business. Even changes may be a day late and a dollar short.

Um, hello? Profit? Where is it? Not to mention how many times as a customer I've been pissed off at the company. Bad company, bad stock.

Even though I think Netflix will eventually win, Blockbuster is just so low, with all its assets it has to bounce a bit.

i like it cuz its beat up and bloody. They are pouring money into their new online / store membership. They are also doing blockbuster only releases which is NOT a driving factor, but still shows they are not leaving any stone or idea unturned!!! BUY UNDER $5 or as close to as possible. Cheers

Debt is the grimm reaper to BBI, not NFLX. Cash flow has turned positive recently--enough to service debt and reduce the threat of failure. The success of recent promotions has clearly demonstrated that having actual store locations is important to this business, and may actually handicap NFLX's growth. The recent announcement to improve store turns should also help BBI. It's a spec, but BBI just might fool most and become a $10-$13 stock--note the CEO put his own money where his mouth is.
