Best thing about Build-a-Bear is lack of debt. Unfortunately, not nearly enough cash on hand, or free cash flow to sustain this company long term, in my opinion. Should sales somehow pickup, I would reconsider, but sales have declined over the past few years and I don't see anything changing that.

Not making any money, with sales decreasing. A fad?

Agree that the clock is ticking on this one

This PE ratio CANNOT be right.
If it is, this is the most overvalued stock I know of.

This stock will take a dirtnap in 2 years.

As long as BBW is located in shopping malls, the price of their toys will be $25-$50. If BBW faces higher rent in the future, it will have two choices. First, it could raise prices and see operating margins fall. Second, it could not raise prices and see operating margins fall. I wouldn't touch this company.

The recent deal with Borders is desperation from both camps. A trip to Borders reveals that they've become the Blockbuster video of bookstores as they now sell loads of unrelated crap that belongs in the dollar store. Anyhow, I don't see how Build-A-Bear helps Borders at all, and I don't think Borders helps Build-A-Bear enough. Mainly because the concept centers around the existing BBW stores, without the store the concept is just a run of the mill stuffed animal. There are no enduring characters, just stuffed animals, for the low low prices of $50 or so...

Well capitalized company whose stock is trading at a significant discount. Getting a slightly better handle on costs will bring them into profitability. Other revenue streams (franchise fees) starting to sprout as well.

I bought ye-old Build-a-Bear stock a about a year ago and it has shot up faster then I had thought it would have to this price point. When everything is down nope not this one and when it is it's not much. I can't wait to see what happens next!

I would buy this stock because alot of parents like to reward their children by taking them there to get a bear.

I love build-a-bear and I am a teen. The kids are in love with build-a-bear and parents are too. They will continue to buy the adorable stuffed bears for the youngsters.

Good P/e. Consistently profitable, 0 debt and a great product. My little girl loves that store, her and mommy bought me a bear for my 26th birthday. This price is perfect for a stock that will bounce back.
