I believe BBW is a new and upcoming company that has been expanding throughout the US and Europe. There will always be a demand because this is a market niche and has no competition.

Turnaround play protected by low valuation and 50% net cash. Positive sss turn makes me think this could be the right time. I like mgt and the board and think the business has staying power, albeit in its niche. Could double purely based on valuation

~$70 mm mkt cap, $36 mm in net cash, .55X P/B, .74X P/TBV, 1.5X EBITDA, Positive FCF last five years

· The company plans to shut down 15-20 of its stores in North America against four to six new store openings. On the international front, the company plans to franchise 10 locations, which from an operational perspective are pure profit.

· CEO owns ~10% of the shares, while other senior executives own 5%. Additionally, value fund BML Investment Partners owns 15% and in April 2011 BML got a board seat.

· Repurchased ~$35 mm in stock since 2009, still have over $8 mm left in buyback program extended until 2013. Expect 10-12 international franchisees to open in 2012

Not making any money, with sales decreasing. A fad?

This PE ratio CANNOT be right.

If it is, this is the most overvalued stock I know of.

As long as BBW is located in shopping malls, the price of their toys will be $25-$50. If BBW faces higher rent in the future, it will have two choices. First, it could raise prices and see operating margins fall. Second, it could not raise prices and see operating margins fall. I wouldn't touch this company.

The recent deal with Borders is desperation from both camps. A trip to Borders reveals that they've become the Blockbuster video of bookstores as they now sell loads of unrelated crap that belongs in the dollar store. Anyhow, I don't see how Build-A-Bear helps Borders at all, and I don't think Borders helps Build-A-Bear enough. Mainly because the concept centers around the existing BBW stores, without the store the concept is just a run of the mill stuffed animal. There are no enduring characters, just stuffed animals, for the low low prices of $50 or so...

Well capitalized company whose stock is trading at a significant discount. Getting a slightly better handle on costs will bring them into profitability. Other revenue streams (franchise fees) starting to sprout as well.

I would buy this stock because alot of parents like to reward their children by taking them there to get a bear.

I love build-a-bear and I am a teen. The kids are in love with build-a-bear and parents are too. They will continue to buy the adorable stuffed bears for the youngsters.
