I noticed Barlays PLC when running a screen that looks for stocks with low p/bv ratios and positive price performance over the last year and six months. The screen historically trounces the S&P500 by a wide margin. I am inspired to green thumb this stock because the company's financials look sound and the management appears to be first rate. Despite sailing through our current financial tsunami unscathed, this well positioned international financial powerhouse is trading for slightly below book value. I am encouraged by the fact that Portefeuille holds this stock in numerous portfolios and recently picked it AFTER its recent price runup.
