I'm brand new to this game and this is my first pick, mainly because of the slaughter of financials. I used the stock screener and picked all the 5 star stocks that were way off their 52 week high. we'll see where this leads and whether I want to start using real money.

With 43% of this funds investments in the financial sector it is not going to do well until that sector rebounds. Yes over the LOOOOOOONG term dividends grow and provide income but is that any way to make real money NOW?

Solid portfolio, good management of assets, solid dividend history, trading at a large historical discount to NAV. When the market goes up this stock will raise faster when factoring in dividend payments.

BDV is a closed end fund that invests in Dividend paying large-cap companies. The key to this one is that it trades at a discount to its nav unlike iShares Dow Jones Select Dividend Index Fund (DVY). You get the same group of firms at a cheaper price!!!
