*

The Company engaged in strategic consulting applications services, technology solutions and managed services to government organizations.

Your call - Will this stock outperform or underperform the S&P 500? Successful picks are measured in terms of whether or not you were correct and by how many percentage points.

Your time frame - A guideline for other members to see whether your thinking is short or long-term. Time frame is also used to calculate the stock rating, but is not used in the scoring of your pick.

Your pitch - Here's your chance to offer more detailed thoughts, analysis, concerns, or the rationale behind your call. The pitch is optional and may be added later.

Each time you rate a stock, CAPS updates the community intelligence for the company, which may or may not change its CAPS rating. For more information, visit the Help tab at the top of the page.

Read through weak financials and leadership. There is real value in BE’s pool 17,300 smart and talented individuals with many long term contracts. This is a ship that can be turned around, or bought and turned around.

I expect the firm to be purchased within 1 year, or sooner if management cannot show immediate improvements.

Bearing Point is trading at 0.14x Sales. Accenture trades at 0.87x Sales. IBM and Accenture are possible take over players.

At current levels BE is starting to look as an attractive acquisition candidate to the likes of a WIPRO or INFOSYS who have been rumored to be looking for acquisition candidates.

A couple of metrics that give clues to this is BE's current P/S of .14. Compare this to WIPRO's P/S of 4.67 or INFY 6.73 or even ACN at .83. BE's revenue is cheap.

Another interesting metric is rev/employee. BE employee's generate about $201k, compare to ACN's $130k. Indian firms are nowhere near these levels.

Combine the above with BE now being current with financials, a seemingly positive change of CEO and a recent massive clean up of death beats at the MD Level. You got a firm that has a lot of attractive assets and revenue diversification for a pure play Indian IT Firm.

One caveat, I have no clue how BE's extensive government contracts (over half of its revenue) would be impacted if BE was to become an Indian owned firm.

Cautiously optimistic on this one.

Despite the "New Blood" at the top Bearingpoint's issues go deeper than any CEO only change can fix.

Desperation has led to bad decisions and without the twin padding of readily available cash and a good reputation the effects are magnified in both the stock price and the company itself.

From the outside, entities dealing with Bearingpoint are hedging their bets and taking a second look at continuing relationships. The lifeblood of a consulting company.

Internally, as the stock price plumets and debts climb, the whole upper managment chain gets more and more frantic to do anything to get money "on the books"

Unfortunately these frenzied efforts fall into two categories.

When they actually are possible, they only make the now look marginally better than before and at the expense of the money that would have come in in the next 30-60 anyway.

When the directives from above are beyond what current policies and contractual obligations allow, all they do is lay the groundwork for fingerpointing recriminations and bad customer relations.

Not the way to retain people and garner new contracts.

Meanwhile the money that is comming in is spent in all the wrong places.

Finally current with SEC, ERP market continues to grow in small to mid-market. New leadership will continue the good work of Harry You. SAP contracts drive nearly 20% of company.
