All Renewable forms of energy will outperform within the next 5 years.

In light for now. Will wait to see if the order for 25 fuel cells for buses in Brazil get firmed up. I also would like more information on the 21 sold to the Belgium bus manufacturer.
It looks like they are getting closer to the "prize", but will need to keep an eye out for bumps in the road.
This is a somewhat speculative bet of the future, but they are moving in the right direction.
JMO and worth exactly what I am charging for it.

Ballard has the real-life experience with fuel cells in the field. As dollar-denominated oil prices increase, all alternative energy technologies are going to come of age.
Recs
The conventional clap trap about alternative energy technologies not being commercially viable is just that. BLDP will turn a profit this year, and its niche products are cheaper than conventional alternatives. Even though fuel cells will not be making their way in to cars anytime soon, they may be making their way in to fleet vehicles, forklifts, delivery vans, busses, and stationary co-generation devices soon. BLDP will turn a profit with these platforms in 2011. After they project profit in late Jan, resistance will be a t 4-5 level.

my lottery play

Very Low now and selling larger and larger orders for Fuel Cell generated buses and power plants

topsecret pick

I have been following this company for the past 20 years. It looks to me like all of their hard work Is about to pay off over the next few years. Buy some now to get your feet wet.and buy more on weakness. Undervalued, misunderstood, and shunned by the all of the doubters, this Is a great opportunity to start accumulating shares of this very well managed company. Third quarter earnings will be released tomorrow (10/28/2010),they should have some good things to say. Onward and upward... TS

technology innovation
Recs
Ballard (BLDP) was on an artificial hold. Like stem cell research, the science was ready but no none wanted to give up their tired old systems. Hope things are changing for this and other technologies, and that people will stick to the reality at hand. Technology has to be converted to reality green, not pseudo green.
Recs
Increasing orders for fuel cell power generation (household, industrial, public transit, camping (generators) and other applications. They have a broad customer base and a good product along with decent management.
Recs
demand driven
Recs
Bldp is no doubt about to explode. The fuel cell industry in general is behind them, far behind them, in advancing itself and all of us towards a future in which there is less, or no, reliance on petroleum for moving us forward.
Recs
Long-term speculative pick in the clean-tech sector. Fuel cells will become a part of the total energy solution (not THE part but a part).

1/19/2010:
Ballard Power, Dantherm, Danfoss invest to create fuel cell backup power systems capability (BLDP) 2.32 : Co announces that it has acquired a controlling interest in Denmark-based Dantherm Power, partnering with co-investors Danfoss A/S and Dantherm A/S. Dantherm Power develops clean energy backup power systems, utilizing Ballard's hydrogen fuel cell technology, for telecom equipment suppliers. The joint investment and partnering support from Ballard, Danfoss and Dantherm is expected to result in accelerated development of fuel cell backup power applications across Europe
Telecom is big biz in Europe and lots of money are spent on reliability. Fuel cell backup power makes just sense now for this kind of applications and soon it will explode in a big business.
Discalimer:
I own shares of this company and several others in the fuel cell industry (hydrogen)

If the fuel cell technology catches on, the sky is the limit for this company.

I think that now, 2 years after divesting their automotive fuel cell strategy, this company can finally focus
on providing what customers want now. Back-up power for Telcom's, especially overseas, is a billion $
market and Ballard has the network built ready to sell into that market. Battery powered forklifts and cleaning
machines is also a huge replacement/upgrade market and they have a competitive product ready to go.
The day's of field trials are coming to an end and commericial orders are on the way. After 20 years, its
time to show something. This could be a nice mover higher in 2010.

Going down.
Terrible financials.
