Third world contracts i.e. South Africa, China, India will increase demand then the announcement in the near future that Ballard will be supplying 75 Kilowatt fuel cell modules for automotive application. 25 percent of Ballard's income comes from Volkswagen and others associated to Ballard. If the 2000 spike in share price hit $210.00 share just before the Tech Stocks dropped it would be reasonable to assume those investors are still their and looking very closely at Ballard. Fuel Cells are the obvious next step for environmentally friendly power generation. Made 600% profit on Ballard so far. Have been paying attention.

Almost 20 years in the business. Mature technology, industry leader, climate change, energy independence - all signs favor "real" green tech. It may be optimism or just hope that we *accidentally* start to "do right" by future generations (by doing anything for the planet now!). Still seems only market/greed will decide if "now" is actually the time. Wait and see.

The financials are dreadful! YOY revenue is down, cash flow is not much better!

Getting closer to profitability can move the PPS meter in large increments. Sometimes this is to be expected in a company growing sales and expenses in anticipation of a larger market share. Sometimes when shorts are piled on this can be overdone, especially on a company with several years of historical data that continues to have declining YOY revenues.

It's true that the fuel cell market is showing some promise of late. Ballard, however, has burned through its cash and will need additional cash that may not be returned to investors in the form of growth. The orders from Walmart to PLUG that they will need to supply should help, but the orders are spread over two years and Ballard is unlikely to be able to front the cost. Margins have been low and an increased scale should help, but not enough, at least in the short run.

Short term call, expecting financing on this PPS surge.

with Tesla anouncing to go big in batteries, I think BLDP might profit from that tren.

Fuel cell co. hot 10 yrs ago, then crushed. LONG climb back should be profitable from here on. Upside breakout today (1/31/14) up 11% mid-day.

In my opinion... the PEM technology that Ballard uses will more than likely be the future since PEM's can be used in both Mobile and stationary applications. PEMS can also be stacked for increased energy density for stationary applications. Carbon based fuel cells designed by companies like FCEL require the mining of carbon based fuels (natural gas) and can only be used in stationary applications. Carbon based fuels are meeting opposition by "green lobby" activists and legislation limiting the mining of carbon based fuels which may eat into the profits. The issue with Natural gas is that it is converted to H2 and CO2. The H2 (hydrogen) is the clean burning fuel while the CO2 (carbon dioxide) is the unwanted "greenhouse gas" byproduct. A PEM produces no CO2 byproduct. Again, this is my opinion.

Closed and reopened to more accurately reflect my actual start price.

Actually in at $0.65, but still not a large part of my portfolio.

Still expect them to improve performance in the future, but still struggling to get there.

JMO and worth exactly what I am charging for it.

Ballard has the real-life experience with fuel cells in the field. As dollar-denominated oil prices increase, all alternative energy technologies are going to come of age.

The conventional clap trap about alternative energy technologies not being commercially viable is just that. BLDP will turn a profit this year, and its niche products are cheaper than conventional alternatives. Even though fuel cells will not be making their way in to cars anytime soon, they may be making their way in to fleet vehicles, forklifts, delivery vans, busses, and stationary co-generation devices soon. BLDP will turn a profit with these platforms in 2011. After they project profit in late Jan, resistance will be a t 4-5 level.

I have been following this company for the past 20 years. It looks to me like all of their hard work Is about to pay off over the next few years. Buy some now to get your feet wet.and buy more on weakness. Undervalued, misunderstood, and shunned by the all of the doubters, this Is a great opportunity to start accumulating shares of this very well managed company. Third quarter earnings will be released tomorrow (10/28/2010),they should have some good things to say. Onward and upward... TS
