The LatAm bank has a sweet, little niche as global trade grows.

Latin America exposure, great dividend, strong bank that made it through the "great recession"

Creative mover in financial services in a region that has substantial unrealised economic potential... including with respect to international trade.

Good, solid dividend. Very reasonable P/E ratio now. Exposure to Latin America and other markets. I like it better than many U.S. banks. I've invested in shares at $15.25 and $18. It may drop a bit in the short term (especially if the market corrects soon), but that just means more shares bought with the dividend. The long term looks good.

With the storm in Europe and the eventual growth of the Asian middle class, this Latin American bank is setting very pretty. Decent dividend while we wait.

Strong growth in target market. New offices should provide additional capital via deposits. Only question is if Latin America can keep it up.

Well, it's my first ever CAPS pick...so, perhaps I'm hoping for some luck. That said, I'm also hoping that positive macroeconomic conditions are favorable for international trade.

Profits come from the trade financing and M&A activity may increase the volume of trades. They may benefit from currency exchange rates as well.

Good value and growth play on Latin America. Strong banks (along with telecoms) are good ways to play emerging markets.

Bladex, based in Panama, was set up to finance trade in the Latin America region. The company lubricates international trade by extending lines of credit and loans to other regional banks and corporations in order to ensure smooth operations despite the sometimes erratic payment schedules that accompany import/export operations. Their revenue grows roughly in proportion to Latin American economic output, and they are not at all subject to the stumbling blocks that have felled other banks, such as subprime mortgages and unpaid credit card debt, as they do not deal in these kinds of services. A relatively high dividend and attractive growth prospects makes them arguably the single best stock to hold to represent the Latin American economy.
