DMC division makes explosive clad plates that are used in the refining, hydromet, power plant, aluminum smelting, shipbuilding, chemical, and metal processing industries. In the most recent quarter, the backlog was up 58% from the year-ago quarter and 24% sequentially. Announced contracts have grown larger in size and the most recent contract totalled $11 million for a refinery in Eastern Europe. There are several refinery projects in the the late planning and early stages of development that management believes will require a substantial amount of explosive clad. As BOOM has more than a 60% global market share, they are likely to benefit from this demand.

Recently Chicago Bridge received $65 million contract from Suncor for process vessels that are typical of the type of equipment that utilizes explosive clad in its construction. Both Suncor and CB&I have sent thank you letters to BOOM for work that BOOM did for them in the past. The letters are available on BOOM's website. I expect this is one of many contract opportunities for BOOM in the near future.

The AMK division performs highly specialized welding techniques on aircraft engines and ground based power turbines. Last year BOOM signed a five year supply agreement with a major customer for work on some ground based turbines. While the company did not publicly disclose the specific customer or turbine system, it is quite clear from BOOM's website that the contract is with GE and the work will be performed on
