Alright, I realize this is way off conventional wisdom, however, I don't see BP going away anytime soon. Despite the bad press they have two paths to go down to really turn the company around, which I belive they will eventually do. After a huge mess like this I think you will see BP tyring to get into more alternative energies.

As all the work of cleanup supsides from the Headlines and BP can get back to the Business, as long as oil prices stay level this should rebound with 2 years.

Beaten down by the oil spill. Granted they did lose alot of business do to the lost oil, but bottom line the only reason this stock lost as much value as it did was because people didnt want to own stock of a company that was hurting the world in some way.. Once they get the spill cleaned up (which they will) the stock will be back up at $60 a share. It might take a year or more but with any stock buy and hold. This is one of those.

BP has capped the well, now they will do some mop up and pay the fishermen the money they owe. BP might be down for a year, but after that they should bounce back (hand out the divedends again).....the price of oil is rising fast and everybody still goes to Arco to get gas.

Price was artifically beaten down by investors panicked by potential oil spill liability. BP has committed to a $20 billion compensation trust fund, which it can handily afford. Given the slow pace of the courts, the apparent scope of the damage (much less than the doomsayers had predicted), and uncertainty in some liability issues (like the contribution of the firefighting to the collapse of the rig), it will be a long time if ever before they have to pay out any more than this.

The troubles seem to be over, at least for now. Oil companies are tough to keep down, and I don't think BP is going anywhere but up for a while.

Look at Exxon after Exxon Valdez spill. BP will go up in the next year or so.

still upbeat on bp. sold assets, has changed CEO's, has enough cash flow to work out the gulf issues. cleanup will be costly but many investors still see this as an opportunity to buy bp as a short sell.

Should return to it's true value when the current storm passes. The market has a short term memory.

Despite recent disaster still fundamentally good company with real assets and experienced management but dreadful crisis management, PR machine and underwater robot operators. Will return to former prominence medium to long term.

BP will recover as all the flap dies down. People still need to drive their cars and fuel their boats, motorcycles and other toys.

BP 's oil spill has put a whole new liability cost of drilling under water. I expect ALL under water drillers, and well owners are going to think long and hard about under water drilling world-wide. Time to look at the bakken field and oil sands of Canada.

BP is taking the brunt of failed government regulators and environmentalists . This same disaster could have happened with any of the major oil companies. The US is fortunate that BP is able and willing to pay for the clean up and compensate others for their losses. My opinion is the gulf will clean itself quickly and BP stock will be up substantially in the next 3 to 6 months.
