BQI breaks out above $1.50 and can again be rated in CAPS (even if only momentarily) so we'll take a gamble here:

The company is rising today on heavy volume following comments from BP (BP Quote) CEO Tony Hayward, who said the oil giant may increase its drilling position in Canada. "We have a modest position in Canada's oil sands. We can see if we can make it even bigger over time..."

BQI is an obvious takeover target, but at this point it appears to be 'buy the rumor...' however there's some seriously large chunks of money being dumped into it today, so maybe something's up. In with real money at $1.04 - we'll hang on and see how it goes...

Oil may be deep in to it right now, but long term as the world economy pulls itself up by it's bootstrapes, oil will make a comeback. Alt energy is wonderful, but it will take many years for it to make a significant dent in the use of oil. The days of easy extraction of oil are gone and some of the petroleum resources ie oil shale will require prices above $80 long term to exploit them economically. Oil fields around the world are showing decreases, some major, in their output. I am also convinced that OPEC is actually seriious this time about toeing the line on production reductions to try to drive the price of oil to the $70 mark or better. long oil 10 to 20 years!!

Has anyone read this article:

I thought it was interesting to note that they mentioned that such a reactor could be used to help extract oil from tar sands. Depending on the price, it could, over the long term help drive down production costs for BQI.

Going to explode in the short term. A way to produce gasoline other than oil, there is large quantities. Only downside is environmental issues.

The price of oil will be high enough for this company to make money when they will start production.

BQI is ready to go. Oil should find support at $100, the reserves here are immense, and Canada is a safe harbour with a currency situation favourable to BQI.

Oilsands is getting a lot of attention with in price increase of oil over $85. As long as oil stays above 85 I believe Oilsands will be profitable.

With the feel good tree-huggers we have running (or about to run) this country, we will have to turn to our neighbors to have all the sources of oil that we will need.

Shipping expenses are obviously much cheaper to go from Canada to here as opposed to Saudi Arabia.

BQI is saying that it will take 6 years to be a viable source of constant oil supply, but unless the Dems make it a crime to burn fossil fuels (Sorry about your useless 100 ft boat Mr. Gore) we will need oil then as much or more than we need it now.
