Berkshire Hathaway, Inc. (BRK-B)

Outstanding management. Discipline in underwriting and managing float from insurance has created a powerful business. Investment discipline has allowed BRK to be paitient and buy quality businesses at discounts. Buffet continues to build his utility holdings with a guranteed return of 12%. He has purchased most of these holdings in depressed markets. Great businesses at bargain basemennt prices. I expect BRK to continue this practice. The have a hugh cash position that they will put to work when they find value in the market. With the culture Mr. Buffet has established at BRK I expect these principals to continue to drive this business long after he and Mr. Munger are gone.

They've managed to easily beat the S&P over the past 38 years, no reason that should stop anytime soon.

WEB isn't going to live forever but the companies he owns are setup to run forever.

I'll take Warren and Charlie in a down market eight days a week.

Who doesnt love a Berkshire fund. If I had 120,000$ to buy BRK-A then I would. So I will go with 4000/share and wait ,hope that in a year I will be able to buy 10 shares of BRK-A

just going along with the herd. Perhaps Ill get trampled, or perhaps not. I think you can go along with the herd if the market is carrying everyone along and stock selection can at times be following the crowd in that long term movement has tended to be poditive and the company we are talking about has had some bumps in the current blowing out of the inivestors that apparently are not in the market for the long run.

pe of 15.44 is attractive, but i dont think it offers any security against downside.

I think the five years could allow any stock to gain something.

It is hard to pick against Warren Buffett. With all the new cash he put into the market, he is poised to do what he always does and that is make money. He digs and claws to find solid companies with long term prospects and petty little investors such as myself who don't have a clue what is going on grab onto his coattails and take a ride. He is the best at what he does and i don't see that changing until he dies. But hey, he is warren buffett he may just live forever!

I have owned this stock for more than eight years and it is what has helped my portfolio beat the SP500. This company has discipline and executes well. There is a very good chance I will still own these shares a couple of decades from now. If the annual reports were not available online for free, it would be worth the price just to get the letter to the shareholders.

As this option drops, there is small potential forprofitability unless the industry makes a major turn around.

Geez, split the stock every once in a while...

Who wants to argue with Buffett and Munger? That's a pair that will beat a full house every time. That's also whare an amount of my long term money resides.

What could I possibly say about BRK???

Short term the unprecedented split will boost and probably get this put on an index, which will give a small institutional uptick. Over time, fundamentals and discipline will keep this stock at a premium.
