Through the banking crisis, BRKL maintained a high P/E ratio and continued with their solid dividend. While they continue to gobble up small local banks, it can't be ignored that they're a great buyout candidate themselves.

Solid balance sheet, increasing earnings, good dividend, solid local real estate market and timing is perfect -- it has been beaten down primarily on technical grounds. Due for a solid and long-term pull up from June lows.

In anticipation of the eventual rebound of the financial sector. A little early for bottom feeding, but I am just indiscriminately putting all stocks that are tagged S&L.

They have some new blood but I don't think it will be enough to outperform S&P.

Although they don't do any sub prime lending, their stock price is effected by the whole banking industry.
