might be in for a short pull back here, then will bounce off its 200 day ma. The bad news is built into the stock. Guidant, what can ya say. CEO is a good manager and should ensure moral is up inside the company, especially the sales group. They had a big win a couple months back with a surge in its stent use in a major cardiac facility in Ohio(?), but time will tell. It's PE is low, its cash position is stable thus far and if earnings next week can be even close to consensus, BSX should be at least a double inside 24 months.

Has taken big hit over past year, too good of company to stay down for long.

I like this company that blends medicine with medical devices. It is the market leader in this field, a field with great future potential.

It has good fundamentals and currently low price to enter. Lots of potential growth space.

High ROE at 35.5, moderate LT debt of 1.2x net income (despite what the headlines say), low capital spend (19% of cash flow), and very low price (9.4x free cash flow)

The stent news wasn't all that bad. The January calls will be out of the way soon.

BSX is still suffering from the effects of the Guidant acquistion and the quality issues associated with this companies ICD's. This give Medtronic and St. Jude an advantage in the next couple of years to take market share from BSX. It will take several years for BSX to overcome the poor quality image of the Guidant devices.

FDA Panel meeting this week will approve drug coated stents for continued use. Also it doesn't hurt that some of the physicians of the Advisitory committee have ties to (& receive funding from ) BSX or JNJ, which are the leading producers of stents.

Biggest product is the "stents" used to keep blood vessels open. If this device is limited, or stopped, they are going to take a real nose-dive. A very risky stock.
