Energy stocks have momentum right now. Especially oil alternatives. As the US finally begins to realize the negative impacts Ethanol has on related to the cost of putting food on the table, we will re-consider coal as the future energy play. Coal energy transformation seriously pollutes our air, but the reserves are plenty. Specific to Peabody, the stock is known to be extremely volatile. Given the current market I could see it bounce between 3-4% almost everyday. But over the next few months it will outperform the S&P. The latest analyst recommendation on this stock was also BUY moving its overall analyst recommendation to "Overweight"

This is the pure coal play. As gas prices rise and oil gets less abundant then coal will be the only answer for our energy needs.
