My 1st version of this spreadsheet devles deep into the company's balnace sheet and recent income statements, combined with other relevant price data for the company including insider/institutional holdings, short interest, debt levels, etc.

Biovail has a wide range of products, specifically products and research in development with a wide range of applications. They also seem to be on a steady climb.

Continued generic erosion of Wellbutrin XL, no new product launches with any significant commercial potential, company will not be able to sustain its $1.50 dividend, its strategic marketing department lacks significant experience since Gregg Zaidel left the company, CEO and others have no experience to challenge an inexperienced director of strategic marketing, Thomas Han, who makes hair-trigger decisions, and their market forecaster has virtually no experience.

Sales are projected to go down.

Margins are projected to tighten.

They just had a drug recall.

They have a reputation for very aggressive accounting.

They are changing the direction of the company, to developing their own drugs, which presents certain risks.

Well managed. Plenty of liquidity. Good dividend.

A lot of cash and no debt in a defensive sector.

I am trying to pick the best companies in their respective industry that also pay a dividend.

Biovail has been beaten down with management issues and profits. It is starting on the road to recovery after a big shake-up and is refocusing efforts that should make it more profitable over the next 2 years. Now is a good time to load up the truck at less than $11.

Paying more in dividends than they're making, and they just hired a new CFO.

Value

hopefully company's management received enough complaints to start doing the job right.

Pharmas are quite difficult to value for outsiders. What I see in this company is mostly valuation. The company seems to be valued cheaply and I have put my money on that being corrected over the next years.

Biovail has been beaten down from its 52-week high of $26.48, has a low P/E 12.01 and dishes out a nice dividend, returning 12.80 percent.

Recent buyback of 14.4 million shares is a bullish signal and an indication company officials are confident that BVF is undervalued.

Wellbutrin generics should continue to come under pressure from their poor efficacy vis-a-vis the brand name product. Huge buybacks on the horizon. Refocused management has put past scandals behind them and looks to pour cash into R & D pipeline stocked with potential market-leading products.

LOOK AT THE DIVIDEND ! EXCELLENT !!
