Direct access to china. Has given a considerable dividend the last few years.

Chinese stocks in the portfolio oversold. Expect technical rebound in coming 3 months as Chinese economic growth exceeds expectations.

I wouldn't pay real money for just about any ETF (much better to find out the winners and buy the underlying stocks yourself than to let a fund manager, who doesn't care at all about you, attempt to do it for you), but China will very likely outperform the NYSE.
Reason being is that the government of the PRC is moving forward in a dirigist and protectionist direction. The Chinese are doing nuclear power, high-speed rail, irrigation, public housing, etc., with the state providing a strong directive role - in other words, REAL economic progress.
Meanwhile, the decadent and collapsing West is on the fast track to a new dark age. The only thing the US has to offer the world these days is derivatives, credit default swaps, payday loans, and junk food - otherwise known as "nothing of value." Oh yeah, and maybe some windmills (a 16th century technology at best) and solar gadgets in a decade or so.
What's really interesting - or, probably more appropriately, insane - is that the very same investors who love China as a place to make money sneer at the idea of the US implementing the economic policies (e.g., dirigism, protectionism, state-controlled banking) and general policy orientation (e.g., a commitment to industrial progress and an increasing standard of living through increasing physical production) which has made China the economic powerhouse that it is, and that will, if current American policies (e.g., "free" trade, globalization, wild speculation, etc.) are not changed, shortly bury the United States in its grave.

I am never good at picking bottoms, but I reckon this is as good a place as any.

CHINA IS GOING TO BE HUGE. THE PROBLEM IS: HOW MUCH MORE CAN SHE GO DOWN? I THINK THAT IT WON'T GO DOWN BELOW 36$, BUT IF THINGS PICK UP IT CAN GET TO 100$ AND MORE IN 2 YEARS

China is expecting 9% growth in 2008 and this find is tied to the hot Shanghai exchange.

Best performing fund of Chinese stocks in Chinese currency, not ADRs. Sometimes closed-end funds are better than ETFs.

China has done enough resting in Q4 2007.

This is the only way that I am comfortable investing in China. These are class-A share, which the government does not allow foreign investors to buy these so this is one of the few ways to get them. The fund was beat down by nearly $20 per share so its a good time to get in. I believe this should be a good investment up through the Olympics. Long-Term valuation of the underlying stocks is tough to determine. Everyone is so excited about the emerging Chinese middle class. The only problem is the emerging Chinese middle class. Japan's industrial revolution was 50 years behind the US, China is about 30 years behind Japan. As the middle class emerges from the factory, they demand more pay and more time off, thus the cost of making goods goes up. Will China be making toxic Barbie dolls in 20 years; I doubt it. They will probably be made in Africa by then. China is going to be a cheap labor driven economy for a while, but if the service sector doesn't explode rapidly, I think they will ultimately see difficult economic times as foreign investment departs for cheaper shores.

Mogan Stanley China (CAF) allows access to A shares which are on a tear. Some see this as a "bubble" as earnings are still to catch up with valuations, however, that's due to the large number of new companies, which unlike the Internet Bubble have "real" products. CAF should remain in a high growth mode through close of the Olympics, then might want to diversify somewhat.
