The board seems to be a bit high on themselves. Reminds me of Yahoo. Kraft may be wise just to walk away.

OOPS! Melamine in the milk in China? Dairy based chocolates made in China!!?? Melamine in the best chocolates in the world? Unthinkable. Well, it happened. It appears that CBY caught some headed to or already in Australia. They've recalled the product, no one's sick. We hope that no one was exposed to this product. This is, however, going to hurt sales.
I'm betting that the the market's response today was adequate, and this very good little company is going to outperform handily in the long term. An added bonus is that I get to pick it up while the rest of the market is down, too.

I have been watching this stock grow for the past two weeks. Already a household name. Cadbury is ranked amonst the best in confectionary concoctions. With the recent changes made in the Wrigley's and Hershey's companies this one has laid low to avoid any sort of "political damage" to them as a comapny and as a name. The numbers all look appealing and promise a profitable future.

Cadburry schwepps is coming into the easter selling season and will lay a bunch of multicolor eggs with heavily tinted red. They are a large old tired bunny that seems to be buying as much debt as possible hoping to buy a winner. Unless it can begin to bake up some new ideas instead of new ads, the eggs it is now laying will begin to smell even worse.

Cadbury Schweppes is the world's largest confectionery company and has a strong regional presence in beverages in the Americas and Australia. The company’s products are sold under the brand name, which includes Cadbury, Schweppes, Halls, Trident, Dr Pepper, Snapple, Trebor, Dentyne, Bubblicious and Bassett, which are enjoyed in almost every country around the world.

Globally, chewing gum is the fastest-growing sector of the confectionery market, ahead of both chocolate and sweets. Across the world, the sector has grown by over 7% for the past three years. To take the advantage of this growth, the company acquired Adams brand, which helped Cadbury to gain second place in the global chewing gum market. To further enhance its position Cadbury is planning to enter UK by introducing Trident brand by the end of January 2007.

Revenue performance was impressive with a 23% growth in recently concluded quarter led by acquisitions of Dr Pepper/Seven Up bottling group. On a segmental basis, Americas Confectionary revenue grew 7% thanks to 31% increase in sales of chewing gum. This should be viewed as positive factor as US is the largest gum consumer, with 170-180 servings per person annually. Cadbury’s UK business suffered a blow when it withdrew a million bars of chocolate from sale in June after a pipe at its plant caused salmonella contamination in Marlbrook. However, the remediation process as specified by the Food Standards Agency (FSA) should bring sales back to normalcy.

With strong pipeline of innovation coupled with growth from emerging markets, the company should be in a position to sweeten shareholders portfolio.
