If I were watching it every day, I would wait for some technical improvement before adding, but tends to have somewhat sharp lows.

This is a company that is not customer driven, innovating in some areas but not makign the most of the technology, slow to move and update, they have some good technology but I don't believe their entrenched and old style sales team management will allow them to be successful.

Going down from its high over the next few months.

Cadence Design Systems is in trouble. Their annual revenues for the 2009 fiscal year is slightly over half that of 2007. Although their cost structure has been reduced, mainly by R&D reductions; it is still too high for the new revenue reality. The small $0.0066 in earnings per share of last quarter was an illusion, since it occurred due to a negative tax expense of $0.0577.
Their recent quarterly revenue number is about 5% above the lows of 2009. But so far it is not looking like they are participating in the recovery. Yahoo! has these CDNS numbers: ROE of -101.58%, Op.Mgn.% of -10.82%, Profit Mgn.% of -17.58%, per share book value of $0.403.
This is not good. I've got to give the S&P 500 Index my preference compared to this one.

Unusually high call volume at $7.5 for 8/10

This is just a horrible company. The management is awful, and it continues to bleed money with no innovation in their products. They spend a ton on R&D yet have zero ability to create new compelling products. Look for them to tank this year.

These guys got Whammered with the best of them by some ruthless analysts in the Tech sector. Gotta like their spirit, right after the hammering they announce a 500 mill. buyout of their own flesh, God I love that kind of spirit.
I like them back in good health in a few mo. Till them I'll play them like drums.

Cheap stock. I believe the 2008 revenue guidance was overly pessimistic considering that the downstream semiconductor industry hasnt evidenced much of a slowdown (see TXN guidance).

Great news six companies have joined the growing list of Cadence OpenChoice IP program since its introduction in 2004 which includes ChipIdea, GDA Tecnologies Inc., Intelliprop Inc, IPextreme, Fabbrix, and Ingot Systems, Inc. It's only a matter of time will we see the company grow.

The company has had strong technology and sales but was saddled with a poor CEO. Fister will right the ship, sell higher, and increase shareholder value. He might even sell Cadence. IBM?
