New medical code laws for 2014 will continue to add to CERN revenue streams this year. As will overseas markets as the world notices efficiencies from top medical software companies. Look at Dubai

With a high PE, the slightest misstep will be severely punished. For the last seven years there have no missteps. No reason to think that will change. Triple in 5 years.

Cerner is a top tier company in electronic medical records, which are now required by ACA to be used in all medical practices and health care facilities. Competition in this market has been fierce, but is beginning to thin with some of the smaller less competative players now leaving the market. That should leave things open for Cerner to continue to acquire new business. Additionally, once a hospital makes an investment in electronic records, it is very expensive to change, essentially locking in most of Cerner's accounts.

Cerner will continue to be a leader in the Health Care IT sector. The healthcare industry is accepting the digitization of medical records at an alarming rate, much in part to the government mandating it. Even if the gov. were to let up on their mandates, the healthcare industry has seen the benefit and those health organizations that haven't jumped on board will in the years to come.

Great company that should outperform for a very long time.

- Market leader in large hospitals for healthcare IT. Huge switching costs, which are getting even larger with new government incentives ('meaningful use' provisions block out would-be competitors)

- Great financials: CERN is increasing operating margins, net margins, and cash flow at the same time that it is paying down debt. Growth is coming organically, rather than through acquisitions.

- Their co-founder is still CEO and has been with the company since 1979. Along with the other co-founder, they together own 14%.

I recently read an interview with the CEO of United Healthcare, who thinks that the future of healthcare is in data. More data on the patients will allow for better records, which allows for prevention (rather than treatment) of illnesses and reduced costs for the entire system. It was a very compelling argument. If true, Cerner is in the perfect position to benefit.

Healthcare is a lagggggard in automation - this company has little competition and a 99% customer retention rate. The founders are still entrenched. Growth and ROE is 15% with scaleable R&D and Glassdoor is 3stars. PE of 24x and 2.7% yield.

They have succeeded in delivering on expectations and will be able to keep their customers, even increase market share after the stimulus goes away.

The healthcare mandate will constantly drive more customers to digital records. There is at least an additional 5-10 years left of pure growth by selling new licenses. After that, it will be more about maintaining customers and fall into a more mature business cycle.

It is obvious that Cerner (CERN) is firing on all cylinders where as Allscripts (MDRX) is not. It seems that Allscripts pain is Cerners gain ! Cerner is in the right Industry at the right time and are executing as they should . My money is on Cerner and invested in the company !!
