THIS COMPANY WITH ITS DIFERENT PRODUCTS FOR HANDLING AND CONTROLING LIQUIDS IN VARIOUS FORMS IS A VERY NECESSARY PRODUCT. THESE ITEMS ARE USED WORLWIDE AND THE COMPANY SELLS DIRECTLY WORLDWIDE AND ALSO THRU 3RD PARTYS. THIS SHOULD MEAN THAT THEY WILL DO WELL ESEPECIALLY IN EMERGING COUNTRYS AND IN CHINA BECAUSE OF THE EARTHQUATE.

Ugly duckling, nonsexy business that plugs along and quietly makes $$$

Colfax supplies the marine, engineering, oil, and gas industries with a few different kind of pumps and fluid handling systems. I like how they're diversified globally with distributors in 79 countries. Total revenue and gross profit have consistently gone up since 2005. Operating income was way up in 2007 from 2006. Seems like a solid company.

These days, IPO darlings are few and far between. However, Colfax got the nod, which is the formula to outperform.
The management of this company appears to be very smart. They were going to debut the IPO, but withdrew in 2003 due to unfavorable market conditions. Instead, the company continued to pursue its acquisition plan and waited for a more opportune time to debut its IPO. Although market conditions still aren't that great, Colfax is now a bigger and stronger company. The favorable reception to its debut is a good indication that management made a sound decision.
Colfax is an appealing long-term investment given that it is an international company with good business practices and room to grow.

This stock just IPOed. It is a strong company with solid revenue improvement year after year. It was and will continue to be a strong IPO.
I love the company because much of its revenue comes from fixing equipment already in the field and its sales continure to grow.
