Found while researching OYOG. I don't understand how this call isn't obvious based on the numbers. Every stat but 2 says that CGV is a better value than any of its competitors, by multiples!



Here's the head-to-head CGV vs OYOG:

Gross Margins: 33% -> 38%

Op Margins: 22% -> 19%

EPS: 12.152 -> 2.975

P/E (fwd): 13.24 -> 17.39

P/E (ttm): 3.56 -> 25.83

P/S (ttm): 0.56 -> 3.32



Qtr Rev growth: 83.9% -> 41.4%

Qtr Ern growth: 45.9% -> 100.8%

And with a new, more business friendly president in France I don't see more barriers to earnings growth, but less. Of course, I'm no expert.



One more thing, according the TheStreet.com, CGV was added to the portfolio of Newcastle Partners, a hedge funding that's returned 27% annually over the past 12 years (that's a vote of confidence I think).

Before you can drill it you have to find it. As geographic locations for oil are increasingly in harsh and remote environments, accuracy becomes more and more critical. Also careful monitoring of wells (4D seismic) greatly can improve efficiency and production.
CGV is clearly a market leader in a highly specialized field. The company call itself on its website “the world’s leading international pure-play geophysical group”, and I agree.
