Water shortage will begin soon. This is a great way to profit from it. It's a long-term play becuase we're still going to have to deal with the food shortage before water.

Essential element of life.

Water is one of the most basic and essential necessities of life. We all need it, and we all need it to be as fresh and pure as possible.

Water appears to be a safe and sure bet to invest in for the future. Water will only become more valuable as the world's economy and population increases rapidly. Currently water indexes seem to be down, but the only reason I can tie that to is because the rest of the market is down, and no one in the media that I have seen has been talking about investing in water.
Therefore, I think it's time I jump in at this low tide and ride the on coming wave on up!

Global water index ETF. There is no natural resource more precious than water...this index has a low turnover and low fees. Good long term play.

One of my themes for the coming decade..."Blue Gold", with some parts China running out of water by 2010, companies in this ETF will reap the Billions of dollars the Chinese Gov't has earmarked for water infra.

CGW is an ETF based on a selection of top water and water infrastructure companies around the globe. Some analysts believe water is the next big commodities bull market, and all signs point to an increased demand for clean water worldwide.
The reality is that this ETF is a slow builder, not a rocket... a tortise, not a hare. I've held it for months and I'm only up a few percentage points, but I expect my position will grow slowly and safely for many years. There are often short-term swings in this ETF's price (often market-driven rather than based on water fundamentals) so there are some good opportunities to start or add to a position.
Overall, CGW a very solid, fairly safe bet if you have the patience and inclination to take the long term view.

Limited supply and high demand make industries surrounding water—its supply, management, and exchange-traded funds—attractive opportunities. Water is the one commodity where demand is not subject to the pressures of macroeconomics. Demand for clean water supply and improved water infrastructure is growing around the globe—driven by a rising population, increased industrial demand, and the need to upgrade or replace the aging pipes carrying our water.
