They make nice homes for a good price.

I like the UK move.

No one is going to be able to purchase those big homes that are in forclosure now and what baby boomer wants to spend time remodeling or knocking out walls.

Baby boomers looking to retire and can afford these easy to maintain homes on their own property or in a park and the are easier to make wheelchair friendly.

They are energy efficient.

True to don't appreciate in value but, when you are a boomer looking for a ranch, these are a nice alternative.

Nice replacement for a natural disaster?

Other than the typical cycling I see CHB as a sideways move for the the next year or so while the financial world works out the latest lending crisis.
As an industry insider I do see a growing excitement in the "Modular" side of things with growing interest in multi unit projects. I believe this will be what keeps things on a somewhat even keel for the next year or so and developing into the new growth cycle for the industry. Meanwhile I guess I'll see what I can harvest out of the market noise on this one.

CHB made a profit last quarter and met expectations in a lousy housing market. Their focus on affordable modular housing will help them continue their rebound.

recently had to buy a new house (trashed in new orleans). Modular homes are clearly superior to stick built from a cost / time / quality perspective. They've made large in roads into the new housing business in different parts of the country but the room to grow is tremendous. As soon as the public becomes educated on the quality and stops confusing modular homes with mobile homes this will be a very very good business. I think this is a long term hold because its hard to predict when the word will get out.

Saw a pitch that said something about low end homes. These things are also made to the tune of $300k. its not just low end.

Its at a low, good numbers, good management, gov't contracts, and I think low end housing is going to move up.
