The fact that this had a positive earnings surprise recently is a bonus to the high insider ownership here.

I suspect, though I can't be certain, that insider ownership is a good predictor of such enjoyable surprises. Insiders do usually interpret available information better than brokerage analysts, and don't have to do anything illegal to do it.
