In the production business of natural gas and oil in the UNITED STATES. This stock should sky rocket as we lower our dependence on foreign oil and continue to look towards natural gas

Shale oil is becoming more and more prevalent especially with the endorsement of the current administration.

With managements haphazard approach to growing profits wall street has blasted them with a depreciated stock price. As they are lead in a new "conservative" direction expect their assets to shine through value that is currently in the shade.

New chairman of board(Archie Dunham) is starting to clean up this mess. Expect an experienced new CEO in the next few months to bring some accountability back to the company. I expect sales of non-core assets to continue until CHK is focused on only a handful of basins(Eagle Ford, Marcellus, Niobrara, and Utica). This transformation could unlock the value in CHK assets.

Undervalued assets!

McClendon gone, insider buying, earnings will go up down the road, natural gas will increase in price some day. Long term pick. Most importantly no real money is behind this pick.

Natural Gas is in the basement. No surprises there. However, in years to come it will be the energy of choice.

Massive reserves make this a prime acquisition target, per Morningstar research. Anyway, the saga of CEO Aubrey McClendon always makes Chesapeake worth following.
PS, anyone named Aubrey who's old enough to be the CEO of a multi-billion dollar corporation is most certainly male, as in this case. If we don't get this name stealing crisis under control, in 200 years all boys will be named Sue -- just ask Johnny Cash!
Recs
Renewed confidence in management.
Recs
I think people are too hard and Aubrey and his treatment of the company. Yeah, he made some mistakes, but it looks as if he's trying to right them. Not to mention, they have been divesting as they said they would, even if they aren't selling at the highest prices. The main thing for me is that they are doing what they said they would.

I've been burned on this stock so many times, I could qualify as kindling, but I'm going to chance that they have found a floor at 15-17 and will pull up over the next three years. Icahn will either wring profits out of CHK or wring McClendon's neck. Either way, I'll be satisfied!!
Recs
Probably the best US NRG pick of the year!
