Colgate Palmolive is an old company, of course, and owns many products with strong brand loyalty. And they offer a nice dividend, which bears considering. I find the company attractive mainly because they've been expanding into the developing world… More

Long-term underperform. Lackluster mgmt. Price in the mid-range with P/E/ a bit high. It may have some room to go up, but long-term won't outperform the S&P500.

Consumer spending down, which will weed out the smaller companies. People will always buy certain staples - like toothpaste and soap!
