People have been selling CLNE recently because someone posted a rumor that compressed natural gas, rather than the liquefied natural gas that Clean Energy sells, will be the wave of the future. This rumor was probably circulated so that a short seller could cash out at a good price; it is completely false. Long-haul truckers are never going to want to wait half an hour while their tanks are filled (only partially, due to heat buildup) with compressed gas. They will much prefer a complete fill in 5 minutes with liquefied gas from CLNE. The recent sell-off is a buying opportunity for those wanting to own a great company with fabulous growth prospects. Disclosure: I own a small position.

LNG and CNG is the future for trucking. CLNE is ahead of others in developing fueling stations and agreements with companies and trucking users. Latter half of 2014 will start accelerating revenues.

No profit. Still building out though. Some indication may go lower, but I'm gonna jump back in at here.

This will be a wild ride, but I want to be along for the journey. Once infrastructure is built out more fully, this stands to be a prominent player

They are building out a grid of natural gas re-fueling stations. Due to our supply of natural gas, this seems to be a long term trend.

1. Most drivers (other than truckers) will want a greater number of service stations.
2. NG and LNG need specialized infrastructure - This is FAR more expensive than just installing tanks.
3. NG and LNG is dangerous to handle. It would require more specialized equipment and/or trained personnel (attendants) to dispense fuel.
4. Both NG and LNG are under high pressure. The fuel tanks in vehicles would be prone to explode in accidents.

Volvo trucks is passing on liquified nat gas and introducing trucks that run on di methl ether which can be made from renewable sources. Volvo was right about diesel exhaust fluid and particulate filters on existing engines. Liquified nat gas has inherent problems (cryogenic) slow fill times and not enough range for over the road trucking. It could work well for terminal to terminal operations like ups or fed-ex but di methyl ether would fit into existing infrastructure seamlessly. I think DME will win in the end.

Increasing value proposition of LNG/vehicles and momentum as vehicle conversion efforts with WPRT gain traction. This is a long term play only.

I'm speculating that geopolitical winds will shift over the next year or two giving nat-gas broader acceptance. We also need time for infrastructure development. Also, lower crude prices continue to depress nat-gas proliferation.

CLNE is highly dependent upon long haul truck conversions to the WestportCummins NG engine recently released. The next 9-12 months will be a critical gauge of the adoption pace by truck manufacturers and fleets.

CLNE is leading the way in natural gas stations. Natural gas in automobiles is happening. It is just a matter of time.
