People are hurting, but they will continue to pay for the ability to sit on their duffs and watch videos of goats licking electric fences on youtube and making sure they DVR "American Idol" until the bank comes and kicks them out of their house.More

Comcast is a company with a monopolist attitude: high prices and low on service. Until recently, that may have been OK because they had a monopoly. But with competition from satellite TV and IP TV over fiber being real, they must change their… More

Here are the reasons I like Comcast.

1. On Demand is by far the best entertainment platform, I've tired them all.

2. Comcast is entering the wimax market with Clearwire, which will position them to take advantage of the smart device and netbook market that should continue it's massive growth. They already have much of the infrastructure for this from the broadband operations.

3. They are actively working on being the first cable provider to market with online tv and entertainment. I think Comcast sees the writing on the wall in regards to the telvision and the computer becoming a singular platform. We may have gigantic flat screen monitors in the future, but it's all going to run through the computer... wirelessly via home hubs.

4. The switch to digital cable. Now most people already had cable service and a lot of them had comcast. However those people who have comcast (myself included) and have multiple TV's but only one cable box are finding that they are no longer receiving channels on their tv sets not hooked up the an actual cable box. What this means is that they will now need to at least get a basic cable box converter for the other tv sets in their house. The extra cable boxes are 9.99 a month in my area. That's an additional revenue stream from an existing client base. That is HUGE.

5. In my personal opinion I believe that Comcast will be looking to aquire or partner with a wireless phone carrier, like um... Sprint. This would put them into the game heavily against verizon and att. And would give them further ability to offer package bundles to consumers allowing greating price flexibility to generate new customers and retain those already with them without cutting into their margins terribly.

6. Comcast has begun to show a greater acceptance for the new age of media and broadband use. See bittorent for example.

Easy thumb down pick. This stock will never thrive.. even if the company does. Upper management is clueless and greedy. The silver spoon kid will let the company fall apart while daddy collects pay for 5 years after he's dead.
