Has ~700 stores currently, so plenty of room to grow. The business model is outstanding -- very fast, very simple, tastes great. Yes, it's only a burrito, but it'll become a mainstay of the new model for fast-food. Profit growth is excellent -- 72% annual growth since Q3 '06, and 288% for the 7 q...More

There is one Chipotle close by to where my house. I have never seen the place fill up and most of the time 60% empty. For me, the food was not that good. The management said no store has been closed. I think for now they just trying to keep the stat looking good.

1. Chipotle Mexican Grill has 700 restaurants across the U.S. serving up-market fast food.
2. The B shares were spun off from McDonald's and while lower in price have 10 times the voting power.
3. The hype has drained out of the price and it is close to its 52 wk. low. I expect price support at this level.
4. New report named this stock a category killer.
5. Reports have favored their "green" policies, fresh ingrid., excellent food, good atmosphere, and welcoming employees.

Current correction is a great buying opportunity. Good food, management, and balance sheet will allow for future growth.

I love the fact that this is a "fast food" company that is choosing to make environmentally friendly choices. This is the direction of business in the future, as the market (ie, society) begins to demand that more and more. Companies like CMG will benefit as the "green" movement becomes more and more mainstream, the supply chain builds up, and costs come down with economies of scale.

Unfortunately, I haven't been to a store--it's hard to go to a chain for a burrito in California when there are so many good local places--but the reviews I've heard from many others in Fooldom are terrific. Gotta love CAPS for that!

Still haven't heard a good reason for the price difference between the class B shares and the normal shares. Anyone know anything?

An expanding leader in the upscale version of Mexican fast food. They use high-quality ingredients and build the food the way you like it. These B- shares are a final spin-off from MacDonalds and, at this writing, have two different features from the A- shares: they sport a lower price, and they have 10 times the voting power. No telling when the market will bring a bit more parity to the share prices. Follow the expansion of this company's restaurants (and try the food).
