Marcellus Shale problems...
1. Fracturing issues...
NY State issuing new Rules after public opinion time period...
Not sure how much production will be lost but taking short term,"DOWN", as hedge for other medium producers whom have little no exposure to this Area.
Also Drillers may lose Rigs...and Fractruing fluids producers may lose Sales to this much needed sales area..putting more pressure on them so offshore Drillers may be safer play,as this may sustain NAT GAS/OIL prices more due to some amount of production loss, for How Long? or Higher Drilling,Fracture costs with New Regs coming..ETC.
Anyone care to mention whom makes Environmentally Safe Fracture fluids, that would be the " Strong BUY" company...CCR,CCC..DOW.?personally I'm looking into that Idea...
Happy Trails.

NG inventories are about 34% higher than a year ago. The futures on NG are well below where they were a year ago, couple that with increased inventories I don't expect to see a big price increase. Also these companies are beginning to get squeezed by local municipalities that smell money. I live in the Marcellus area and several towns are looking at taxing NG production as a way to make up the shortfall in revenues.

Nobody talks about the gas wells in Dimmock, Pa. This
company has hit a homerun in Pa. Stock will be selling
at $80 in 18 months. Buy now before it hits $30.

Cabot is a well run, fairly lean integrated Independent. I don't know how their financials shakeout but going forward they look good to me.

Natural gas should get a pop when Obama looks over T Boone's plan. The plan makes sense, and Obama is pragmatic. The price should get a good boost within the next year

One of few stocks in the world that seem just too expensive even though it operates in an industry outside of the FIRE sector of economy (FIRE = Financial, Insurance & Real Estate).
The valuation to earnings potential going forward is not worth it, nothing going for it on the dividend end, and there would be other companies in the sector that are much more desirable.
I'd sell this company to put my money elsewhere. In fact, I'd rather use that money and pour it across residential real estate, apartment buildings, other stocks, commodities, or bonds. Even if it survives the next decade, it will lag its peers and it will likely lag S&P 500.
SELL.

I am buying this energy company on a pullback. It brings energy into my caps portfolio at a time when oil has bounced off of 110 heading for possibly higher territory. As the Oil and Gas industry sank heavily in the past weeks as the crude dropped from 147 to 110, I feel we are seeing bargain prices on oil and oil stocks. It is possible that the oil prices will continue to lag, and for this reason I choose cog which apparently controls gas reserves that are going to become economically feasible in the short future.

The sell off is overdone. Natural gas is the bridge to alternative enregy. It's not going away any time soon.

Experiment time... I will pick whatever stocks that are on the cold 5 star list on the last trading day of each month. There is no research involved other what is on the cold 5 star list at the end of each month. Each pick will be for one year. Lets see where this goes...

Since we will finally an EPA that is not being coerced by the administration, coal burning power will be more expensive to operate as it contributes more pollutants than natural gas and COG is in an excellant position to exploit their resources.
