It reminds me of a BMW. How many people can afford to drive a BMW? A few. But yet in the past 10 years or so it seems like everyone thinks they can. Wrong. So now what happens? Either cut the price and cease to be a "luxury" brand or cut the production and continue to be a luxury brand for those that can actually afford luxury. Neither options makes a compelling case to buy the stock.

Great brand, great financials. But simply up too far, too fast and luxury brands' suffering is nowhere near over.

YOU MUST BE JOKING ME. This stock will be in trash very much like their products.
The product and the stock prices was hyped up by the media and by the company itself. It's a typical "the emperor wears no cloths' thing. I hate their products and only stupid people would buy it.
The quality is low and they have no creativity. Imagine that, to be in a semi-fashion business and have zero creativity.
Sell this stock while you can.
Another negative thing: Jim Cramer always pumps this stock so you know it must be bad.

Nobody will buy coach handbags during a depression

It seems like most women have coach purses. I even see middle school aged girls carrying them. While the expansion and popularity of their product was good in the short term, Coach will continue to be hurt by the fact that their bags are no longer unique.

In the face of terrible economic conditions, the Company refused to lower its retail prices for the holiday season. One the one-hand, I respect their attempts to avoid over saturation / devaluation of their products. Unfortunately though, the market for Coach products has and will continue to be flooded by knock-offs, resulting in exactly the same problem without the revenues.

no one cares about retail right now

Not truely a luxury retailer, it appeals to the people that really don't have the money to buy them. Also Steep discounting has been observed at retail level, and costs have surely gone up

bad economy = no 800$ purses

Maybe for Christmas but not right now. Gas is high people are scared to spend anything. Time to stop buying overpriced gear.

retail will remain poor until the fed tightens. that will translate into a local peak in oil, will curtail gas prices, and will finally bring some life back into retail.
