Recs
Pretty much a legal monopoly
Recs
Investing heavily to expand capacity. When those investments catch up, CPFL will finally be able to boost its dividend and drive up profits.
Recs
As a green electricity provider, CPFL produces great returns. At its current price level, it's a great buy.

Recs
A good way to diversify the portfolio outside North America, while getting a strong utility with above-average dividend (7,5%). Apart from their core energy plants (electricity), they are engaged in clean energy as well (biomass, wind farms,...).
Recs
Brazilian electric company paying a 7.7% dividend. Brazil will continue to grow.
Recs
CPFL is Brazil's largest non-state-owned utility company. It pays a dividend in excess of 6%, yet it is making huge investments in its distribution network to support the increasing energy needs of its customers. As the Brazillian economy continues to increase, those needs should skyrocket.
Recs
Good growth, emerging market (Brazil), and an excellent dividend that the pundits keep saying can't continue (while I've collected on it in RL three times now).

Stats look decent and I'm starting to track this one in CAPS to pick it up in my RL portfolio on the next down trend.
I love utilities, and from a very quick overview this one seems to have manageable debt. Brazil and the 5 Stars trigger my addition to CAPS... would love to pick this up around $50.

Got beaten recently like the girlfriend of Nebraska Conhusker player in the 1990's (here's looking at YOU, Christian Peter.) Not quite sure why this got whacked so hard - could it be that they speak the same language as some of those scummy sleazeball lazy europeans? Hey, Brazil is a different country! Beautiful beaches! Beautiful women (my girlfriend in fact is often mistaken for Brazilian so that's how I can say that.) But really, what I like about Brazil is that is where the emerging market dollars will go once China's real estate bubble implodes. Plus that president of theirs has a pretty cool beard.
Recs
great market growth ahead
Recs
Bought it when the share price was in the 30s. I still think it can outperform...
Recs
High growth country, industry, and company, and it provides a good dividend.
