Recs
Cray has made some strategic market plays, taking market share where needed, boosting stock prices, and giving investors a long awaited returns.
Recs
Cray's been considered the father of IT, the supercomputer is more in demand, and required than before. YarcData is is only one division of a Co. that's adapted to the growing demand and need for it's services.
Recs
Cray seems to be overlooked. Has a low PE according to this site, has no debt and it has a long history
There is going to be some demand for super computers always, even the cloud needs servers and they have a good deal with INTEL.

Cray has moved to a a strategy which lead to market share

Super computer systems are the future. Long on Cray

I put CRAY in my real life portfolio over a decade ago. In that period of time, it has returned roughly -80% thanks to price depreciation and a reverse stock split. This company makes no effort or indication that it intends to enhance value for shareholders.
The red thumb here serves 2 purposes:
1) Revenge. This is the only stock I purchased in my teens that I never returned a profit from.
2) Future prospects. Cray is a bit player in a niche industry. Some of their greatest claims to fame is building "the worlds fastest computer," which in terms of ROI, means bupkiss to the casual investor.
Cray has, is, and will continue to underperform the broad market.
Recs
big move up today, think this is a shortterm trend and will be down again shortly
Recs
Not a profitable business.
The only thing keeping them alive is a funding from DARPA (Government funding agency for research projects relevant to national security) and this is about to end in 2012.
They have about 100 Million in assets. We will see if they can stick with them, or will they spend it all.
Recs
magic formula
Recs
Super computer's application are limited to large industries or government agencies.
Recs
Long time stockholder. Impressed with quality of board and execution of business plan.
Held the stock during the long (3 year) down period.
Recs
Solid competitor in the super computer race, endured the tough times and now poised to thrive.
Recs
Cray is a singular enterprise with a specialized product that has worldwide acceptance and buyers. Its sole competitor is IBM which has a broad menu of products, bundled supercomputers being a relatively small fish for them. Once a darling of the high tech community, its fall has been a chastening. I see a group of qualified people who want to prove the validity and future of their enterprise and the superiority of their product. Score one for the little engine that could.

I like Jaguars!
Recs
makes super computers
Recs
CRAY has more cash on hand than its market cap, which is highly unusual.
Next-generation processor now available and order intake is picking up.
CRAY has an established and critical niche in supercomputers.

Wow... this one... I talked to the CFO a couple years ago... To my surprise... this guy... was so damn stupid...
Well, I didn't really know if he changed or improved after all these years... But... look at the stock performance... STINK!!!
How can a CFO has a truck driver attitude... I'm shorting it... till it dries up!!!
Recs
With US government one of Cray's largest customers, investing in Cray is akin to investing in the US Treasury.
Recs
Long history of disappointment, and plunged again recently, but this company stays in the game and has an excellent chance to bounce back.
Recs
slowly recovering from a near disaster under some new leadership with good products and metrology markets growing
