Florida is a bigger gambling state than Nevada. The high rollers were leveraging their bets on real estate, which have mostly gone down in price. The only companies making money are the ones cleaning out foreclosed homes and condos. This stock's recent price rise is likely tied to the recent market gains and is probably less due to a real fundamental change in Florida's banking business.

banking play. Alot of good players have selected this one as an underperform. i am just riding their coattails to greatness...

This bank is well capitalized and capital is king. They will survive the downturn and be in prime position to capitalize on Florida's growth. Their branches are in Small Cities and rural areas and therefore the bank has not been caught up in the "big city" lending like other Florida Banks. Their deposits are strong and growing. Management is comprised of experienced Florida bankers with strong knowledge and connections to the communities they serve. The P/E ratio may give the impression it is overpriced but i consider it a bargain.
