Wonderful business with a large moat. I don't expect any rockets up for this stock, more like a the steady little engine that could.

The price of railroads are being propped up due to forces out of their control. The purchase of BNSF by Berkshire Hathaway has increased interest in the railroads. In addition, their deep moats have created an implied place of safety. The risk of reregulation I think is minimal since there is already extensive oversight by several government agencies. Many of the Class I railroads volumes are down to early 2000's levels which I would not expect to recover but at a pace in line with the general economy.

EBITD Margin (TTM) 35.20 (CSX) 30.70 (INDUSTRY)

CSX knows how to run its business. If business picks up, with this leverage, this stock should move in late 2010.

The country has to develop jobs to increase consumer demand. The consumer will then build the economy. Transportation stocks will then raise on demand in the economy.
