Several analysts have a $30 target on this one, but I don't see it based on their financials - selling today's technical pop at #19.11

While they provide a good service that has a better reputation than most competitors, the fact is that email marketing is simply becoming more of a commodity with each passing year. It is simply very difficult to provide a consistent web-delivered product that doesn't get quickly overshadowed by another small start-up that offers better features for less. The small end client that CTCT focuses on tend to be loyal...for a while. The only real room for growth in these types of companies are the medium to enterprise level services, because they can a) lock clients into service contracts/upgrade contracts, b) would incur large migration cost to move away (providing loyalty), and c) tend to integrate these services into a larger solution. The only small web services to look at are those that are not easily copied.

I am a believer in Lyris (LYRI.OB) the original email marketing company. Growing, equal profits, half the assets, but less than 1/10 of the capitalization. I believe Lyris will become a formidable foe of Constant Contact, and you will see CTCT share price drop.

Bleeding for money and will be irrelevant once SalesForce decides to integrate email marketing using a more reputable vendor at a more affordable price. Constant Contact's service level is nonexistent and their software is inferior to their competition. The price is the only factor keeping the company alive, and no company can survive only on low prices in an arena where regulation is coming down hard on spam email marketing.
