The demand for water is life and death,
they serve several areas where over time
increased demand will occur.

Short term losses mean little.

I like where they are going, but I also wonder how they can compete with the larger companies like GE who can also do this sort of thing.

California grows worse by the day. Worldwide pollution will force the need to go after salt water whatever the cost!

Water scarcity play, with huge upside from a couple of ongoing developments in various countries. Admittedly a bit of a speculative play, but solid fundamental indicators mean it's low-risk to tank.

This is a real-life holding of mine through my investment club.

Sales have grown at an annual compound rate of 9% since 2010. EPS has grown at an annual compound rate of 17% since 2009. The pre-tax profit margin fluctuates around the low double digits, and the earned-on-equity hovers around the mid-single digits. The debt-to-equity has fallen annually since 2005, and was less than 4% in 2012. The current P/E is below historic averages, but above the highs of last year, so the stock is probably reasonably priced on that basis. The PEG ratio is an attractive 0.88. The company pays about a 4% dividend yield, and the payout ratio is below 50%, so the dividend should be easily sustainable.

If the company can sustain current earnings momentum, (a big if), then the stock could return 20% annually over the next several years. Add in that 4% dividend yield, and that would give you a total annual compound return of 24%. That is a good return in my book, and one I am hoping to see. We'll see if I can realize this return on this investment.

A play on fresh-water scarcity. Just started following the company and the story looks interesting.

Positive:
- A welcome setback to buy this stock at a more reasonable price. Probably has a bright future.
- Solid balance sheet, good growth prospects.

Negative:
- Chart breakdown might lead to some more pressure in the short run.
- CEO sold some stock after the price drop ...!?

While Aqua America has run into some rocks and shoals in some recent rate hearings, Consolidated's customers don't have as many options. I have seen some of their plants in the islands and they are impressive. It would take a sizable outlay to set up a competitive operation.

The honest truth is that when the Sec of State says water will be a key resourse in future conflicts. Its probbly a resourse worth getting while cheap. I like the numbers the company generates and the overall direction of the company. I am getting heavier in water plays, from munciplaites to providers, to people that clean the stuff for consuption, to bottlers selling the stuff. The dividend is solid. Add on top of that the price seems to keep going down, and you are adding to upside. I got in at 9 likeing, at 7 I love it, should it go below 6 I don't see how you lose.

Here's what it has going for it: water play, moderate dividend, small cap. I am green thumbing this so I will remember to research it further.
